Description
Safari Bungalow, Bamurru Plains, Kakadu
Safari Bungalow is a luxury bush camp located on the Mary River floodplains, west of Kakadu National Park in Australia. The camp offers a unique wildlife experience, with bungalows set amongst native bushland. The location of the camp is one of its most attractive features, as it occupies a small footprint and provides exclusive access to the floodplain and savanna woodland on the Mary River. The camp is off-grid and located on a water buffalo station, making it an ideal destination for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
The bungalows at Safari Bungalow are designed to immerse guests in an untamed natural environment from the moment they wake up. Each bungalow overlooks the floodplain and has mesh walls that allow guests to hear, see, and almost touch the wildlife and wilderness around them. The bungalows are rustic-chic, with fine mesh screens from ceiling to floor on three sides, offering 180⁰ views of the bush and floodplain.
Guests at Safari Bungalow can enjoy a range of activities that are tailored each day to best capture the seasonal variety and number of wildlife that flock and flourish across the destination in the savannah woodlands, the coastal wetland forests, and on the floodplain. The camp offers guided safari experiences that allow guests to be captivated by the sights and sounds of the Australian bush. They can watch as hundreds of birds take flight, scan the shallows for saltwater crocodiles as they skim across floodplains by airboat, or cruise the Sampan River watching for silver flashes of fish breaking the surface. On guided walks and drives, guests can search for brumbies, buffalo, dingos, wallabies or pause to consider an intriguing reptile.
